Guests arrive in time for the sumptuous Grosvenor Afternoon Tea which will be served from 3pm onwards in the Arkle Bar.
7.00pm Meet in the Drawing Room to meet your fellow guests over a glass of champagne and for a brief introductory talk by your host Nicholas Merchant.
7.30pm onwards Dinner in the Belle Epoque splendour of the Grosvenor Brasserie.
Thursday 21st October 2010.
8.30-9.30 Breakfast served in the Brasserie.
9.30 Depart by coach for Tatton Park.
10.30 Guided Tour of the House. Like Erdigg, a remarkably complete example of, in this case, an18th century house with its gardens, farm-buildings, herd of deer, parkland and mansion by Wyatt. Notable particularly for a magnificent suite of Gillow furniture, porcelain and Dutch paintings
12.30 Lunch served in the Harness Room.
2.00pm Depart for Tabley Hall.
2.30pm Arrive Tabley Hall. Tabley, undeservedly little known, is the finest Palladian House in the North-West. Designed by John Carr it harbours within its walls a first-rate collection of paintings by Turner, Reynolds, Lawrence and Lely along with exceptional furniture of the period. Afternoon tea included.
4.00pm Return to Grosvenor

7.30 pm Three-course Dinner in Private room with half bottle of wine chosen by our sommelier
Friday 22nd October 2010.
8.30-9.30 Breakfast.
10.00-11.00 Talk by Peter Boughton, Curator of Decorative Art at the lecture theatre Grosvenor Museum on The Story of Chester Silver.
Free time and a chance to visit the long-established Chester Antiques & Fine Art Show on the Chester Racecourse. www.penman-fairs.co.uk.
5.30-6.30pm Talk by Nicholas; The Many Faces of Eaton Hall, the home of the Dukes of Westminster.
Eaton stands at the hub of the vast Westminster estates. Its mansion has been rebuilt innumerable times not least in our own generation, when it has been rebuilt twice.
7.00pm Gourmet Dinner served in the Michelin-starred restaurant. Simon Radley, who oversees our restaurant, has held a Michelin star for twenty years, so his reputation is unassailable. A fitting end to this luxurious short break.
